Does the count include both dates?
No. It counts the days between them, so 1 January to 2 January is one day. Notice periods and contract terms often count inclusively — check the wording before relying on this.
Why are working days different from weekdays?
Working days here exclude Saturdays and Sundays only. Public holidays vary by state, and many Indian offices work alternate Saturdays, so adjust for your own calendar.
